Mobile Clean Truck Check in Los Angeles County
Diesel Dynamix brings Clean Truck Check testing to your yard, jobsite or home anywhere in Los Angeles County. You do not drive across town to a test site, and your truck stays close to dispatch.
What many drivers call a truck smog check in Los Angeles is, for vehicles over 14,000 lb GVWR, CARB's Clean Truck Check. We run the right test for each engine:
- CARB OBD test for 2013 and newer diesel engines and 2018 and newer alternative-fuel engines. See OBD testing.
- Smoke opacity test plus visual inspection for 2012 and older diesel trucks without OBD. See smoke opacity testing.
- Visual inspection for 2017 and older alternative-fuel vehicles without OBD.
We test semi trucks, dump trucks, refuse trucks, buses and box trucks over 14,000 lb. After the test we explain the result in plain English and give you the next due date. Price depends on truck count, test type and location, with per-truck pricing for fleets. Call or text (858) 342-8328, or book online.
Vernon, Commerce and the Alameda Corridor
Yes, we test trucks in Vernon, Commerce and the rest of the industrial belt along the Alameda Corridor. Warehouse and distribution yards in Vernon (90058) and Commerce (90040) run tight schedules, so we come to the yard instead of pulling trucks off the road.
The same goes for downtown Los Angeles, East Los Angeles, Huntington Park, Bell Gardens and South Gate. In South LA and the Gateway Cities we regularly drive to Compton (90220), Lynwood and Paramount, where many owner-operators park at home or in shared lots.
A typical visit for a box truck or tractor in this area:
- You send the VIN and truck details by phone or WhatsApp.
- We confirm which test each truck needs.
- Our tester meets you at the yard, often early in the morning.
- You get the result per VIN and the next due date.
If a truck fails, we tell you why. Common causes are a check engine light, readiness monitors not set, or DPF faults. Read what to do after a failed test.
Carson, Wilmington, San Pedro and the South Bay
We cover the Harbor area and the South Bay, including Carson (90745), Wilmington (90744), San Pedro and the Harbor Gateway. Many of these yards serve the ports, so testing on site saves a trip and keeps turns moving. For drayage-specific details, see our Port of Los Angeles page.
Further north we test trucks in Gardena, Torrance, Hawthorne and Inglewood. These cities mix trucking yards, contractors and service fleets, and we test all of them the same way: at your location, one truck or many.
Out-of-state and international trucks that operate in California need Clean Truck Check too, and we test them here. Owners report each vehicle in CARB's CTC-VIS system and pay CARB's annual compliance fee there. We help with CTC-VIS questions if the system is new to you. See our CTC-VIS guide.
San Gabriel Valley, Santa Fe Springs and the Valley
Our mobile testers also reach the San Gabriel Valley, the eastern Gateway Cities, the San Fernando Valley and north county. If your truck is in Los Angeles County, we can usually test it where it parks.
- San Gabriel Valley: City of Industry (91748), La Puente (91744), El Monte, Baldwin Park, Irwindale and Pomona.
- Gateway Cities: Santa Fe Springs (90670), Pico Rivera, Whittier, Downey and Montebello.
- San Fernando Valley: Sun Valley, Pacoima and Glendale, where construction and dump truck fleets are common.
- North county: Santa Clarita and the Antelope Valley, including Lancaster and Palmdale.
For fleets in City of Industry or Santa Fe Springs, we set up recurring visits so every truck is tested before its deadline. You get records per truck and VIN, plus reminders before the next round. Learn more about fleet testing.
